Self Care for the Winter Months
As the days get shorter and the weather gets colder, it can feel harder to take care of ourselves. During the summer, we are most energetic and our days are long and full. Now, the sun sets at 5 pm and we struggle to get enough Vitamin D. This can take a toll on both our mind and body - so it becomes increasingly important to practice self care and nourishment.
Here are 11 ways to slow down and take care of yourself this winter,

Take a bath with some bubbles and essential oils. Light candles and play calming music to add deep relaxation.

Make yourself a warm drink. We love tea, hot cacao, and all 3 flavors of Mooncycle Moon Milk (these contain soothing herbs and adaptogens!)

Add fruit to your water. It becomes harder to remember to stay hydrated in the cold so make sure you find ways to get in that H20.

Practice gratitude. Write down or think about everything you are grateful for each morning. This can help you start the day off on a positive and high vibrational note.

Find exercise that you enjoy. Joining an online yoga or pilates class is a great idea because you can do it in the comfort and warmth of your own home.

Spend time with loved ones. Good company is a major form of self care. Even if you are an introvert, it is important to make time for social interaction (and hugs) even when it’s cold and dark out.

Declutter. This is a good time to go through the piles and the closets you have been meaning to deal with for months.

Journal. As life slows down for the winter, we can get in touch with ourselves and reflect on the year behind us. What has gone well? What can we improve in the coming year?

Go on a walk! Even though the outdoors can seem less inviting in the cooler months, I promise you will never regret a walk.

Treat yourself. Look up a new healthy dessert recipe, make mocktails, book a yoga class or a massage. There are many levels of treating yourself and even the little things can make a huge difference in your mental health.
